Albert Kahn designed this seven building, 2.2 million square foot complex on Clay Street in 1915. Murray Body took it over and grew into the third largest maker of car bodies in the country, supplying Ford among others, before leaving the car business in 1955. The floors are now cut up into studios, workshops and small manufacturers, one of the earliest of Detroit's factory conversions.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
