Ike, Texas held steady at twenty five people for forty years
1898
Ike, Texas
Farmers settled the banks of Grove Creek here in the late 1880s or early 1890s. A post office opened in 1898 and closed five years later, and after that Ike existed as a school and a church for the surrounding farms. The reported population was twenty five from the mid 1920s until the 1960s, then ten, and it stayed at ten through 2000.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
