Hoboken Terminal, Hoboken, New Jersey

Kenneth Murchison designed this copper-clad terminal for the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western, finished in 1907, with a Tiffany glass ceiling in the waiting room and ferry slips built straight into the building. Commuters got off trains, walked across the concourse and onto a boat to Manhattan without going outdoors. It still works that way, and it is one of the very few great American railroad terminals that was never torn down.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
