Hibbing High School, built with iron money
1920

When the mining company moved the town it also paid for the school, and the town spent the money, a building that cost nearly four million dollars in 1920, with a 1,800-seat auditorium modelled on a Broadway theatre, cut-glass chandeliers imported from Belgium and a pipe organ. It is a public high school in a town of sixteen thousand and it looks like an opera house.
