Voters passed a 1.75 million dollar bond in 1924 to replace a school the suburb had already outgrown. Franz Warner and W R McCormack designed the result at Cedar and Lee for 1,500 pupils, with an auditorium seating 2,000, a library, two gymnasiums and a stage. The Tudor Gothic front and the ivy that grew over it gave a public high school the look of a New England boarding school.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
