Guttenberg is four blocks wide, running from the top of the Palisades down to the river, and is the ninth smallest municipality in New Jersey. At roughly 57,000 people to the square mile it is the most densely populated incorporated place in the country, ahead of every borough of New York. It was set off from North Bergen in 1859 and did not become fully independent until 1878.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
