Hudson City and Bergen City are swallowed by Jersey City

Hudson City sat on top of the Palisades and had been its own municipality since the 1850s, with Bergen City on the ridge to the south. On 2 May 1870 both were annexed into Jersey City in one stroke, which is how a place with a Dutch village at its centre and a rail terminal at its edge became a single large industrial city. The Heights is what Hudson City is called now.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
