General Electric's Everett plant, a jet engine works on the Malden River
1941
Everett, Massachusetts
Known in wartime as Air Force Plant 28, this 43 acre works on the Malden River ran from 1941 into the 1980s doing machining, stamping, welding, plating and parts testing for General Electric. Parts made here fed the company's engine operation in nearby Lynn. GE consolidated the work into other plants and the buildings were eventually demolished.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
