The Parma Metal Center stamps sheet metal for most of GM's North American cars
1948
Chevrolet Boulevard, Parma, Ohio
General Motors opened this stamping plant on the edge of Parma in 1948, at the front of the wave that turned Cleveland's southern suburbs into factory towns. It works more than eight hundred tons of steel a day through over four hundred dies and can turn out a hundred million parts a year. It survived the 2009 bankruptcy by specialising, while other GM plants in the region did not.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
