Consolidated and the aircraft city
1935
San Diego, California
Consolidated moved from Buffalo for the flying weather and built the B-24 Liberator, more of them than any other American aircraft of the war. At its peak the plant employed 45,000 people, and the roof was camouflaged with chicken wire and fake suburb painted on top.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
