This corner of Saddle River Township was called Dundee Lake until the residents voted to break away in April 1916 and set up a borough named East Paterson. Fifty six years later they voted again, in November 1972, to take the city's name back off their own. Elmwood Park became official on the first day of 1973. The borough next door on the other side of Paterson would do exactly the same thing in 2008.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
