Braddock Hills, the piece of the township nobody else took
1946
Braddock Hills, Pennsylvania
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Braddock Township spent decades losing pieces of itself as Swissvale, North Braddock and Rankin each broke away to become boroughs. On 2 May 1946 the hillside that was left incorporated itself as Braddock Hills. Veterans came home to VA loans and the borough filled with new houses almost immediately, which is why so much of it looks like one continuous late-1940s subdivision. The Ardmore Drive-In ran here from 1959 to 1976.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
