Craig Shipbuilding, the first yard in the Port of Long Beach
1906
Long Beach, California
John F. Craig moved the family shipbuilding trade from Toledo to San Pedro Bay in 1906 and opened the harbour's first yard, on the south side of Channel 3. It turned to submarines and cargo ships for the Navy during the First World War. Pier 41 stands on the site.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
