Copper Canyon incorporates to stay ranch land, and still has no shops
1973
Copper Canyon, Texas
About two hundred people living on ranches west of Interstate 35E incorporated on 23 April 1973, with Robert B. Woodin as first mayor and the founders sitting as the council. The point was to keep the horses and the acreage and to avoid being annexed into a neighbouring city's tax rolls. Half a century later the town has no commercial development at all and buys its police and fire protection from the towns around it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
