Beulah Church, organised in 1784 as Bullock Pens
1784
Churchill, Pennsylvania
The congregation was gathered in 1784 and first called Bullock Pens, after the cattle yard soldiers had kept on the spot. It was the first Presbyterian congregation organised in the Pittsburgh area and one of the oldest west of the Alleghenies, and it seeded many of the churches around it. The name changed to Beulah in 1804. The stone building here dates from about 1837 and went on the National Register in 1975, and the hill it stands on is what gave the borough of Churchill its name.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
