Berry Lane Park, built on top of a rail yard
2016

Seventeen and a half acres of Bergen-Lafayette had been rail yards, a scrap operation and contaminated ground, in a part of the city with almost no open space. Cleanup and construction ran from 2012 and cost thirty eight million dollars. It opened in June 2016 as the largest park Jersey City had built in generations, and it sits on the route of the buried Morris Canal.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
