George Orth designed this house in 1898 as a summer place for William Penn Snyder, whose fortune came out of iron and steel, and the name is stitched together from his own. It survived while the neighbouring estates were broken up or demolished. The Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation listed it in 2001 and it reached the National Register in 2011.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
