E. Fay Jones, who had worked for Frank Lloyd Wright, built a chapel of forty-eight feet of pine and 425 windows using only pieces two men could carry through the trees, so no machinery would touch the site. It cost about $200,000 because the owner had simply wanted somewhere for people to stop and look at the hills. Architects voted it one of the best American buildings of the century.
