Chagall and Matisse windows in a village church

John D. Rockefeller Jr. Paid for this small nondenominational church in 1921 on land his father gave. What makes it worth the detour is the glass. After Abby Aldrich Rockefeller died in 1948 the family commissioned a rose window from Henri Matisse, one of his last completed works, and nine more windows from Marc Chagall. A country chapel in Westchester holds a body of modern religious art that most cathedrals cannot match.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
