The smallest school ever to win the state title

Illinois ran one basketball tournament for every school in the state regardless of size, and in 1952 a high school in Hebron with ninety-eight pupils in it won the thing, beating Quincy 64-59 in overtime. Alden-Hebron remains the smallest school ever to take the title, and it is the story every small-town basketball film has been retelling since. The town painted its water tower to look like a basketball and has never seen a reason to repaint it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
