Chester lands the Ford Model A and builds cars for thirty four years
1927
Chester, Pennsylvania
Ford took over the old Roach shipyard site at Front and Lloyd and opened a fifty acre assembly plant in August 1927, starting with the Model A. It ran until February 1961, when Ford moved the work to Mahwah, New Jersey. The buildings were carved up among smaller industrial tenants, and the rail spur into the old assembly bay is still in use.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
