The Kosciuszko Bridge
1939
over Newtown Creek
Antony-22 · CC BY-SA 4.0 · Wikimedia Commons
The truss bridge opened in 1939 carrying what became the Brooklyn Queens Expressway over Newtown Creek, and it was named for the Polish engineer who fortified West Point for the Continental Army. It was replaced by a cable stayed pair in 2017 and 2019. The old span was brought down with explosives.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
