Michigan Avenue at Interstate 94, Dearborn, Michigan

Detroit had argued about a cross-town expressway since the 1920s and finally built one after the war. Darin and Armstrong took the contract in August 1948 and had both spans carrying Michigan Avenue over the trench a year later. The fourteen mile freeway needed more than seventy structures to cross the city. These two were listed on the National Register in 2000 as examples of what that road looked like when it was new.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
