The Greenbelt Arts Center in the planned town's civic core
1980
Greenbelt, Maryland
The theatre company started in 1980 in the Utopia Theatre, the cinema built as part of the original federal town, and later moved into its own space in the same Roosevelt Center. The house seats about ninety on a three quarter thrust stage. It still puts on free plays every Labor Day, which is when Greenbelt holds its festival.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
