The Fox Theatre, a cinema that could not hold a tenant until it went loud

The building went up on the Hill in 1926 as the Rialto and then spent decades mostly empty, passing through a dance club, a bar and a cafe before settling into films as the Fox in 1961. It reopened as a concert hall in 1991 and became the room touring acts play in Boulder, small enough that the stage is a few feet from the floor.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
