Thomas W. Lamb, who designed picture palaces across the country, gave Lincoln Road this one in 1936. It ran films until the 1980s and then sat empty. The New World Symphony bought it in 1990 and used it as its hall for two decades before moving to the Frank Gehry building nearby, after which the theatre was converted into shops.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
