2010
Fourmile Canyon, Boulder County, Colorado
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Fire started in the canyon on Labor Day, 6 September 2010, about five miles west of downtown Boulder, and ran through ponderosa and Douglas fir on steep slopes with houses scattered all through it. It burned roughly 6,181 acres and destroyed 169 homes, most of them within the first eighteen hours, and for a while it was the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history measured by houses lost. Around 3,000 people were evacuated and crews saved several hundred more homes.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
