Patrick Fitzpatrick arrived from Canada in the mid 1830s, bought a 160 acre lot as one of Lockport Township's first settlers, and around 1842 built this T shaped Greek Revival farmhouse out of local limestone on a bluff above the old trail that carried the stage from Chicago to Ottawa. He worked the farm up to 1,200 acres. His heirs gave part of the land to the Archdiocese of Chicago, which started what is now Lewis University on it in 1932, and the house holds the university's history centre.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
