The Dominguez Rancho Adobe on the Rancho San Pedro grant
1826
Rancho Dominguez, California
Vanesser III · CC BY-SA 2.0 · Wikimedia Commons
Manuel Dominguez finished this adobe in 1826 on Rancho San Pedro, the Spanish grant his family had held since 1784 and had revalidated once Mexico took over. The walls run two feet thick under heavy timbers and a flat tarred roof, and a good deal of the furniture inside belonged to the family. It is California Historical Landmark 152 and went onto the National Register in 1976. The Friends of Rancho San Pedro run it as a museum.
