The Sepulveda adobe, the first two storey Monterey house in Southern California
1853
San Pedro, California
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Jose Diego Sepulveda built here in 1853, on rancho land his family had held since the Spanish period, and the result was the first two storey Monterey style adobe in Southern California. California made it a state landmark in 1944. The house itself is gone entirely.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
