Andrew Carnegie approved the grant for this library on 2 April 1899, the twelfth of roughly 1,688 he paid for in the United States. Like Homestead and Braddock it went to a mill town fifteen miles up the Monongahela rather than to a city centre. It was listed on the National Register in 1980.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
