Union Pacific built the depot downtown in 1890 out of native Boulder County stone, in a heavy Romanesque style. Trains stopped using it in 1957, a bus company took it over as a terminal, and by 1973 it was headed for demolition until the Boulder Jaycees bought it and hauled it out near the old county fairgrounds. The city and the regional transit district moved it a second time in 2008, to a transit development on 30th Street. It reopened in 2015 as a restaurant.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
