The Battle of Kennesaw Mountain
1864
Cobb County, Georgia
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
After two months of flanking Joseph Johnston out of one position after another, Sherman decided on 27 June 1864 to attack straight into the Confederate works instead. The assault failed at heavy cost and Johnston held the ridge. It bought the Confederates a week. Sherman went back to flanking, and Atlanta fell in September.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
