Battle of Utoy Creek
1864
Utoy Creek, southwest Atlanta, Georgia
Sherman had ringed Atlanta on three sides by August 1864 and had switched to cutting the railroads that fed John Bell Hood's army. Union troops pushed across Utoy Creek from 5 to 7 August in the third direct assault of the campaign. The attack failed, and Sherman went back to working around the flank instead.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
