The Abbott Tract, laid out by Lucy Abbott
St. Augustine, Florida
Ebyabe · CC BY-SA 3.0 · Wikimedia Commons
Lucy Abbott reached St. Augustine in 1860 in her twenties and began buying land north of the Castillo. By the 1870s she held a large tract of it and had built nine houses on it herself, the earliest of which still stands. The seventeen block district that grew out of her buying runs from Matanzas Bay to San Marco Avenue and counts 124 contributing buildings.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
