1919
Teterboro Airport, Teterboro, New Jersey

Walter Teter bought the meadow in 1917 and the first flight off the present field was made in 1919, which makes this the oldest airport still working anywhere around New York. Anthony Fokker based his American operation here after the First World War and built aircraft on the field. The Port Authority agreed to buy it in 1948 for about three million dollars. It handles no scheduled airlines and is now the region's business jet field.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
