Henry Gogerty's terminal opened in February 1929, mixing Spanish Colonial Revival with Art Deco, and gave Los Angeles its first real airport building. Charles Lindbergh flew the country's first regularly scheduled coast to coast service out of this runway on 7 July 1929, a 48 hour trip that put passengers on planes by day and trains by night. Amelia Earhart bought her first aircraft here. The runway is now a public street, Grand Central Avenue, and Disney has owned the terminal since 1997.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
