Tamarac Square, the 1976 mall that lost to Cherry Creek

Ninety shops, a food court and a six screen cinema opened here in 1976 at Hampden and Tamarac, serving the subdivisions filling in southeast Denver. A fire in 1994 was fully repaired but the vacancies were not, and shoppers drifted to Cherry Creek. By July 2010 three tenants were left. The main building came down in 2011 and a Target opened on the site in 2013.
