Collin Creek Mall, the enclosed mall Plano built and then demolished
1981
Plano, Texas
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
Collin Creek opened in 1981 with 1.1 million square feet on two levels, built over Spring Creek and named for the county and the water underneath it. It carried the north suburbs through the 1980s, then lost its shoppers to newer centres further out along the tollways. The mall closed in 2019 and most of the structure came down for a billion-dollar mixed-use redevelopment.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
