Springwells became Fordson and then vanished into Dearborn
1925
Dearborn, Michigan
The township west of Detroit consolidated itself into a village in 1919 and became a city a few years later. In 1925 it renamed itself Fordson, for Henry Ford and his son Edsel, and in 1928 it voted to merge into Dearborn. Every acre of the old township now sits inside Detroit or Dearborn.
