Solla-Carcaba, the last cigar factory left in Lincolnville

St. Augustine rolled Cuban style cigars from the 1830s, and P. F. Carcaba moved his business here from Cincinnati in 1893, selling Havana leaf in boxes printed with Flagler's hotels. His son and his brother in law Agustin Solla put up this plant on Riberia Street between 1907 and 1910, tobacco stored on the ground floor and rolling on the three above. The Carcaba company failed in 1917 and its successor went down with the Florida land bust in 1926.
