The Campana Company put up this plant in 1936 to make Italian Balm, which was the best selling hand lotion in the country through the Depression, sold hard on national radio. The building is Streamline Moderne with Bauhaus borrowings, curved glass block and a tower, and it was air conditioned from the day it opened, which almost no factory of that date was. It has been on the National Register since 1979.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
