Washington Irving is buried in the ground he made famous, on a slope above the Old Dutch churchyard where he set the Headless Horseman. Andrew Carnegie, Walter Chrysler, William Rockefeller, Elizabeth Arden and Samuel Gompers are all here too, which makes it an unusually direct map of who ran the country in the nineteenth century.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
