Sansom Park incorporates to get out of Fort Worth's tax rolls
1949
Sansom Park, Texas
The place was platted as Broad View Acres and filled between 1910 and 1920 by people leaving Fort Worth, River Oaks and Saginaw for cheap land and lower taxes. In the late 1930s residents organised a citizens pressure group against taxation and annexation, and by the 1940s it was strong enough to petition for a town of its own. Tarrant County recognised Sansom Park Village on 24 March 1949. It dropped the Village from the name in 2000.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
