The San Jose Estates Company bought a thousand acres of the old San Jose plantation in January 1925 and hired planner John Nolen to lay out a suburb on it, then put up this hall as the development's administration and sales building. The Florida land bust arrived before the subdivision filled in and the company went under, leaving the hall, the hotel up the road and a scattering of houses. The building was listed on the National Register in 1985 as the San Jose Administration Building and now holds San Jose Episcopal Church.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
