1927
San Mateo County, California

The City and County of San Francisco owns and runs this airport, but the runways sit in unincorporated San Mateo County, roughly 12 miles south of the city on the letterhead. It opened in 1927 as Mills Field, named for the family whose land it was built on, and took the San Francisco name four years later. It is now the largest airport in the Bay Area and the second busiest in California.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
