Plano's interurban depot, now the Interurban Railway Museum
1908
Plano, Texas

The Texas Electric Railway ran electric interurban cars north out of Dallas from 1908 to 1948, and this Mission Revival depot opened with the line. It stood empty for four decades after the cars stopped, until Plano restored it as the Interurban Railway Museum in 1990. DART light rail now runs on the same right of way a block away, so the commute the interurban invented is still being made.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
