The Pacific Electric depot at Lynwood, a Maybeck design never repeated

The Lynwood Company put up this Mission Revival depot in 1917 and traded it to the Pacific Electric in return for crossing improvements. Its design is credited to Bernard Maybeck and was used nowhere else on the interurban system. Red Car service on the Santa Ana Line ended in 1958, the building went on the National Register in 1974, and it was later lifted and moved to clear the path of the Century Freeway. Trains returned to the same corridor when the light rail line opened alongside it.
