A station stood here from 1925 on the North Shore Line's Niles Center Route, closed in 1948 and was demolished in 1964. For decades afterward trains ran straight through the middle of downtown Skokie without stopping. A new Oakton station opened on the same spot on April 30, 2012.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
