Northern Lights, once the largest shopping centre in Pennsylvania
1957
Baden, Pennsylvania
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
When this plaza opened in the late 1950s it advertised itself as the largest shopping centre in Pennsylvania: roughly sixty five storefronts in three long low buildings, a three storey JCPenney at one end, and free parking for four thousand cars. It was the first big multi store plaza in Beaver County, and it drew trade off the mill town main streets strung along the river. Most of it came down in 2018.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
